Excellent news! We are pleased to share that there is a PCR testing center on Holbox that has agreements with Amerimed and MedicalFees, with ISO 9000 certificates that are accepted by the CDC. See the picture above and more information below. Guests will need to make their own appointments with this center depending on when they are flying back to the United States. Currently, the CDC requires passengers to get tested no more than 3 days before their flight departs and to present a negative test result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight. Air passengers will also be required to confirm that the information they present is true in the form of an attestation.
On the island there is a medical center that performs PCR tests. Most hotels on the island can help arrange appointments at this testing center. We recommend scheduling an appointment with the testing center upon arrival to the island as the center requests 24 hour advance notice for appointments. Appointments are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The cost of the tests at this medical center are as follows: $250 USD for a result in 24 hours. $200 USD for a result in 48 hours. $100 USD for a rapid antigen test. The Cancun Airport is offering antigen testing via mobile units at terminals 2, 3, and 4. These mobile units are operating from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. Cost of testing: Antigen tests: $17 USD, 290 MXN. It takes 30 minutes to get the results. We highly recommend passengers take the test with plenty of time before their flight departs as there are many passengers that need to get tested. Keep in mind this is only for ANTIGEN testing, NOT PCR testing. Some airlines require PCR testing. We are asking that everyone use their best judgement regarding wearing masks, but do not plan to wear masks ourselves on this special day. We ask that guests mask up if they are experiencing any flu-like or cold symptoms. While we appreciate all of our guests who travel to Holbox to celebrate with us, if anyone is concerned that they may be positive for COVID-19 upon arrival, we ask that they DO NOT attend our wedding or get a negative test result prior to attending our wedding. Our goal is to make sure everyone who attends our wedding feels safe and that no one's health is being compromised in any way. Therefore, we plan to provide rapid home tests for all of our guests in Holbox prior to the welcome party so that gathering together mask-free, while also feeling safe, can be possible. We will distribute these home tests Wednesday evening and/or Thursday morning to all of our guests. If anyone tests positive, we ask that they quarantine immediately for the safety of all of our other guests, as well as everyone on the island. Thank you for understanding.
