Oh, you better believe it's gonna be outdoors. There are plenty of covered areas under which important nuptial occurrences will... occur. That being said, we strongly recommend you bring outdoor shoes and something warm to put on for after the sun goes down.
Being the soonly-weds, we'll be dressed pretty fancy for our wedding. For everyone else, we hope you'll dress in what you'll feel most comfortable wearing. We will be outdoors in October, however, so keep that in mind as you plan your fit. It could get cool at night.
Yes! The wedding venue is usually a family friendly music venue and farm, so there's lots of space to run around and a nice little playground area. We totally understand if you'd rather not deal with the hassle of keep track of a little one(s), but they are most welcome.
Yes, though they're already factored into your invitation so please stick to the number of attendees on your invite.
The ceremony and reception will both be held at Mountain Run Farm and it's a reasonably short and level, albeit grassy, walk between the two locations.
The venue is about an hour from Roanoke and 30 minutes or so from Lynchburg, which are the two largest nearby hubs. Virginia Tech will be having a home football game the same evening, so finding accommodations in Roanoke may be tough. We do have a number of blocks reserved at the Lynchburg Grand Hotel available Friday and Saturday nights, and there are plenty of other hotels and Airbnbs in the area. We recommend you book any accommodations as early as possible as October can be a busy time. See the Travel section of our website for more details.
Yes. There will be a shuttle to the venue leaving from the Lynchburg Grant Hotel at XXXX on Saturday. The shuttle will then leave the venue at XXXX to bring folks back to the Lynchburg Grand Hotel.
Everyone is welcome to arrive at the venue between XXX and XXX. There will be some NA refreshments available and plenty of stuff for any kiddos to keep busy with. We will meet at the reception area, which is a short walk from the reception area and parking, at XXX and the ceremony will begin at XXX. Following the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour that will lead into dinner at XXX.
We would prefer if you didn't take photos during the ceremony so everyone can be present in the moment. We have a professional photographer who will already be capturing the ceremony in all of its glory. You are welcome to do what you want after that.
Everything will be entirely plant-based (with the exception of a fish dish) and gluten free (with the exception of some bread which will be kept separate from the other dishes). Most dishes will also be nut free, though if you have a nut allergy, please check with the servers to double check which are safe. Please include any other dietary restrictions you may have in your invitation.
We will be having a small rehearsal dinner for just immediate family on Friday night, followed by a larger welcome party at The Water Dog in Lynchburg starting at XXX for our guests coming in from out of town. See the Travel section of our site for more details.
