While exploring on your own, keep in mind that some places in DC and many Uber and Lyft drivers in the area may still require masks. Some locations may even require proof of vaccination status. We would recommend having a mask with you and doing some research ahead of time to see what the current rules are for that business.
We'll be able to see the memorial from our place, but nothing beats seein' Abe up close. Would recommend going after sunset to lessen the crowds and get the best view.
Mostly shopping, but it is still very enjoyable to walk around this histroic district. Plenty of great eats around here, but known for their cupcakes (overrated, but good).
Public park right at the end of Black Lives Matter Plaza and the park right in front of the White House. Come here for your token DC photo and where everyone says "huh...you'd think it'd be bigger".
DC cultural hub and eatery. Food for everyone and one of our favorite weekend treats to ourselves. Hi-lawn is beer garden located on the roof with picnic tables and yard games.
Even if you don't come to see a show, the building and the rooftop are free and open to the public. The halls are epic and it is our favorite rooftop to see 360-degrees of the DC skyline.
High End dinning, but an area we love to walk around and pretend we are bougie. Pearl Street Warehouse generally has live music and good bar eats.
You could spend a couple of days doing all the museums in DC. If this interests you, let us know! There are tips about which ones are particularly good and some need reservation passes.
Newest developed area of the city and sports area of DC. Breweries, beer gardens, and bars.
This is where Kelsey works...not open to the public...do not recommend walking up to see if she's in.
