Alex and Kathleen met on the first day of school in 2012, when Alex was a freshman and Kathleen was a sophomore at UMass Amherst, aka ZooMass. (Alex is actually 3 weeks older though, and doesn't let her forget it.) Neither one expected to find love that day - Alex couldn't even find his classes, and ended up skipping them to hang out with the cool new girl he just met outside his dorm. They quickly hit it off and within a couple of months, things were official, and they were inseparable. After both graduating from the zoo, Alex and Kathleen eventually lived together in Boston for a few years. The nights were long and filled with dive bars and Ave burgers. They relocated down the Cape during the pandemic and when it was time to renew their lease in Boston, they decided they'd rather head out west to try something new. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 2020, with Kathleen promising her family they'd probably come back in just a couple of years...(sorry about that guys!) Over the years, Kathleen and Alex have traveled to 40 states and 8 countries together. They love Colorado and everything it has to offer - except for the pizza and Chinese food, as you've probably heard them mention every time they're back in New England. When they aren't in the mountains camping, hiking or kayaking, they're likely at a comedy show or concert downtown (or seeing Dead and Company at the Sphere...again). Moving to Colorado hasn't stopped them from being diehard Boston sports fans, and they still love to represent their teams whenever they can. Alex proposed on top of Mount Flora on August 10, 2024. Somehow, after almost 12 years together, he still managed to surprise Kathleen during their hike. They can't wait to get married in Colorado in August with all of their favorite people by their sides.
