Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jojo Areizaga and Alex Bernussi
We’re so excited to share a few of our favorite places in Florence with you. We highly recommend reservations and buying tickets ahead for everything you do in Florence because it is peak season and extremely busy.
Accademia Gallery

Accademia Gallery

58 Via Ricasoli, Firenze, Toscana 50129, Italy
, +39 055 098 7100

The David is one of Michelangelo's most famous sculptures created in 1500. His butt was Jojo's favortie part but if you want to see the front, make sure to visit Galleria dell'Accademia while you are there. We highly recommend getting your tickets ahead of time.

Wine Windows

Wine Windows

Via Santo Spirito, 21R, 50125 Firenze FI, Italy, Italy

Wine windows used to be used during the plague that terrorized Florence. These were closed for a while but reopened during the pandemic and remain open today. There are multiple windows throughout Florence to explore, so keep an eye out for little windows on the walls of buildings or go on a scavenger hunt! Our favorite was Babae where you can enjoy a unique orange wine!

Uffizi Gallery

Uffizi Gallery

6 Piazzale degli Uffizi, Firenze, Toscana 50122, Italy
, +39 055 294883

A huge art museum filled with timeless pieces from famous artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Caravaggio.

Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio

Ponte Vecchio, Firenze, Toscana 50125, Italy

Florence is known for its immaculate jewelry, especially gold. And if you want to browse, the Ponte Vecchio is the place to go. It is in the heart of Florence crossing over the Arno River with tons of jewelry shops along the way with gorgeous views.

Piazzale Michelangelo

Piazzale Michelangelo

Piazzale Michelangelo, Firenze, Toscana 50125, Italy

Enjoy a short hike up to the top of the hills to the Piazzale Michelangelo to see the most beautiful sunset overlooking the city of Florence. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get up there as it does get busy for sunset. You can also take a taxi up.

The Boboli Gardens

The Boboli Gardens

1 Piazza de' Pitti, Firenze, Toscana 50125, Italy
, +39 055 23885

Make some time to stroll through the Boboli Gardens one of the most beautiful Italian style gardens.

Mercato Centrale

Mercato Centrale

Mercato Centrale, Firenze, Toscana 50123, Italy

Large food hall on the second floor with market stalls with local foods on the first floor.

The San Lorenzo Leather Market

The San Lorenzo Leather Market

Italy is also well known for it's leather. Located just outside the Central Market, there are hundreds of leather vendors. ALWAYS NEGOTIATE and you can get an even better price if you pay in euros!

Wine Tour or Wine Tasting

Wine Tour or Wine Tasting

Signorvino Firenze was a great place to do a wine tasting outdoors with perfect views of the Arno River and Ponte Vecchio. They have a wine shop with very knowledgeable sommeliers who recommend wines you would never find in the US. If you have the time, we highly recommend setting up a wine tour out of Florence for the day to go to some actual wineries. A day trip to Siena or Lucca are worth it to see beautiful and classic Italian walled cities.

Piazza della Signoria

Piazza della Signoria

Piazza della Signoria, Firenze, Toscana 50122, Italy

This historic plaza is in the heart of the city and filled with tons of sculptures you can see for free, including a replica of the David.
