Walk across the famous Ravenel Bridge where the Cooper River Bridge Run is held for some of the best views of Charleston (and to work off all the calories that Charleston's great restaurant scene has to offer)! FYI: It's 2.7 miles long.
One of Charleston's most visited historical landmarks, USS Yorktown was the US Navy's tenth aircraft carrier to join the fleet, and she served in conflicts from World War II to Vietnam. Come tour this historic craft and learn about Naval Aviation throughout the years from 9 to 5 on weekends.
Home to the Charleston Riverdogs, Joe Riley Park is a great place to take in a Single-A baseball game. Enjoy great baseball, great local beers, and even a beautiful view of the Charleston marsh. We've had some of our best times at Riverdogs games!
Hampton Park used to be a horse track in the 1800's and is now one of the most beautiful and most sought after photograph locations in Charleston. Hampton Park is where Hunter knew Alex was the one for him when she took his challenge to climb one of the expansive live oaks. Alex knew Hunter was the one for her when he climbed up right behind her! They made many memories here walking their dog, Phil, together and enjoying the flowering gardens, live oaks, and Spanish moss along the walking paths.
Harold's Cabin was where we had our first date, and it has remained one of our favorite quirky spots in Charleston. Check out the funky decor, great cocktails, and delicious food. If you're lucky, you may have a chance to run into owner, Bill Murray!
Formerly, Park Cafe, Park and Grove was a local favorite for Hunter and Alex when they lived together in Hampton Park. One of the best local brunch and lunch spots, Park and Grove never fails to deliver. Stop in for healthy-ish meals and delicious coffee drinks!
Brown's Court Bakery is one of the best kept secrets for locals in Charleston for the early birds. Be sure to get there early to enjoy all the offerings that Brown's Court has. (One of our favorites it the Bagel Bomb, a true 'can't miss'!)
Come explore one of Charleston's greatest waterfront restaurant districts with great seafood offerings like Red's, Icehouse, Water's Edge, and Saltwater Cowboy's. Great views of the waterfront are guaranteed at all of these restaurants, and Shem Creek has everything that appeals to your inner party animal including loud music, great drink specials, and good crowds!
This hole in the wall feels like the kind of place you go after a long day on the shrimpin' boat. Enjoy the local, extremely fresh seafood at The Wreck (the fishing and shrimping boats are literally parked out the back door!) with very lightly breaded (or grilled) and perfectly cooked shrimp, scallops, fish and more. The expansive back patio will give you a great sunset view of the marsh and bridge. A definite must if you love good Southern seafood!
