How we met

Alex and Hailey met while lifeguarding at the West Reading pool. They started out as friends having fun getting to know each other and hanging out while working. One rainy day Alex was waiting for his dad and Hailey invited him to the Doyle house so he was not left in the rain. We started spending more time together and quickly fell in love. We were together for six months before taking a break, but there was something calling us back to eachother. Looking back we see how God was working in our lives and answered prayers for bringing us back together. Helping us see that this was the person we have been looking for and will helps us grow in sanctity He has been helping us over the years. We spent many years in a long distance relationship as we were both in college as Hailey attended RACC and Millersville University for Elementary Education and Alex went to the University of Pittsburgh for Architecture. After we were engaged and we both graduated Hailey moved to Pittsburgh. We lived in Point Breeze and the following year moved to Brookline and have been living there for five years. We returned to the church in 2023 after falling away in our faith and prayer life for a few years. We have grown so much closer together and to God. We are excited to see that He is calling us to the vocation of marriage and being united together. This Holy Sacrament is a blessing we have been praying for and spent years preparing for. We are excited to celebrate this sacred union with our friends and family.

The Proposal

December 23, 2019

Thanksgiving 2019, Alex was given a ring that Caitlin received from our Great Grandmother after she passed. It is a gold ring with an Emerald surrounded by diamonds that was more beautiful than what I had dreamed of when we were talking together during the summer. Alex asked my mother and father for their blessing which they gracious gave to him. About a month later, when I picked him up on December 23, 2019 from the bus stop I gave him a big hug and was ready to head back home and was excited for the holidays together. Alex said he needed to get something from his bag and has something for me. He asked me to close my eyes and before I know it he is down on one knee telling me he loves me and asking me to marry him. We were excited to share the good news with our families.
