How We Met

Our story starts early on a Sunday morning with each of us taking our dog out for a walk, sleepily in sweats, hoping not to see or talk to anyone. The start to every romance story, right? That morning, Gwen’s dog Finn suddenly darted across the street toward the dog park, where Alex and his dog Asher happened to be. (To this day, it’s the only time Finn has ever done that!) While the dogs immediately hit it off, we found ourselves in an hour-long conversation about family, travel, and life—still in sweatpants, not wanting the moment to end. Over the next couple of weeks, we both kept returning to the park at the same time, secretly hoping the other would be there. Eventually, Alex pulled Gwen aside and asked her out—breaking Gwen’s self-imposed rule of never dating someone who lived in the same apartment complex. It didn’t take long to realize this was different. After less than a month of dating, conversations about the future felt completely natural. We both came into this relationship with intention, knowing what we were looking for and unwilling to settle. Finding each other is something neither of us takes lightly or for granted. Out of all the twists of fate that had to align for our paths to cross, we are endlessly grateful. Now, we choose each other every single day with love, respect, and joy that only continues to grow. We feel so lucky to have found our person. We cannot wait to celebrate our special day (weekend) with family and friends who mean so much to us. Thank you for being a part of our story.
