How We Met

"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."

Alex and I met in 2015 when we were both working at the Kmart in Laramie. He was my supervisor. I noticed immediately that he always came in early and stayed late, and he made me laugh every single day. We became friends easily, and since the register equipment was so old I always had to call him to help me fix it. One night after work he asked me out to dinner, and I said yes and gave him my business card with my cell number on it. (I was selling Mary Kay makeup at the time and thought the business card would be a cool move. It wasn’t.) We went out to dinner at the New Mandarin Chinese restaurant in Laramie and had instant chemistry. He told me he loved me just a few weeks later. Our dating anniversary is February 12, 2015. I was headed to the University of Illinois Chicago Campus in March, and we decided to do a long distance relationship for at least a year. My freshman year at school didn’t work out the way I planned, so I left Chicago and moved back home in 2016. We moved in together in 2017 and have been enjoying our lives together ever since. -Written by Gigi

Our Engagement

"Written in the Stars...and Fireworks!"

I always start the story with the day before. July 3rd 2021 was my sister Caroline’s 21st birthday. So we spent the day doing traditional 21st birthday things! The next day, my mom invited us for a 4th of July lunch in her backyard. We wore red white and blue, and stayed late into the afternoon. My parent’s house is near the golf course which has a great view of the fireworks. Alex and I said we would go home to change clothes, and come back in the evening. We got home, and I was a little bit upset about some family drama. He reassured me that he loved me and that everything was going to be fine. He pulled me into the hallway, pulled a black box from his office (it was well hidden!) and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried and said YES, and THEN he opened the box to reveal a set of two gold rings (an engagement ring and a wedding ring) that intertwined like a yin/yang symbol. He had them custom designed and made from both of his grandmother’s engagement rings. They were totally unique and unlike anything I had ever seen before. We went back to my parents’ house after dark, set up four camping chairs on the grass, and shared the news with my mom and dad before the big fireworks show. The next day we were both home from work for the holiday, and spent the whole day calling our loved ones individually and taking some photos. It was magical.

Our Wedding

"To Infinity and Beyond"

We are getting married on September 3, 2022 at the United Presbyterian Church in Laramie, WY (the same church my parents were married in nearly 30 years ago) and having our reception at the Albany County Fairgrounds. We are having a galaxy, celestial theme wedding and the color palette is cool blues and purples, metallic gold and silver, black and white, with a LOT of lights. It will be a formal and traditional wedding in terms of tone, but with some nerdy pop culture elements sprinkled in. We are collectors, we love Star Wars, and astro-urban is how we like to describe our style! The moon and stars are very important symbols to us and we can't wait to glow and sparkle with you all!
