Things To Do

If you're planning on hanging around MKE, we highly recommend visiting any of the places listed below.

Milwaukee Public Market

400 North Water Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202
, (414) 336-1111

The Public Market offers a wide variety of good eats and sweet treats. Afterwards, take a walk through the Third Ward and pop into some of the boutiques.

Colectivo Coffee Lakefront

1701 North Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202
, (414) 223-4551

This old water pumping station has been converted into one of the city's most popular coffee shops. Alex drinks his coffee black and Jenelle loves her lattes.

Zócalo Food Park

636 South 6th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53204
, (414) 433-9747

Here is a place where some food trucks have taken up a more permanent residence. Come for some delicious food, drinks, and ice cream.

Atwater Park

4000 North Lake Drive, Shorewood, WI 53211

This is one of our favorite lakefront parks in the Milwaukee area. If you head down to the lake, beware - the walk back up is quite the workout.

Urban Ecology Center at Riverside Park

1500 East Park Place, Milwaukee, WI 53211
, (414) 964-8505

From here, Jenelle and Alex take Leela for walks on the dirt trails next to the Milwaukee River. This is truly a hidden gem for any nature lover.

Milwaukee’s Black Cat Alley

East Ivanhoe Place, Milwaukee, WI 53202
, (262) 930-7707

Meander through this alley for views of incredible street art. Afterwards, walk over to any of the nearby restaurants/bars/shops - Crossroad Collective, Hacienda Beer Co., Beans & Barley, Sip & Purr Cat Cafe, Ma Fischer's, Mad Chicken, and Landmark Lanes (to name a few). Can you tell we lived over here for quite some time?

Summerfest

200 North Harbor Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202
, (414) 273-2680

Thanks to COVID-19, Summerfest was postponed to a few weekends in September of 2021. Music-lovers, check this out. Jenelle and Alex have gone annually since they started dating.

Kellner Greenhouse

3258 North Humboldt Boulevard, Milwaukee, WI 53212
, (414) 264-6605

This is for any plant lover - just browsing and immersing yourself is a blast. A couple plants from here have survived under Jenelle's care for over two years!

Mary Nohl House

7328 North Beach Drive, Fox Point, WI 53217

Alex and Jenelle love going for bike and car rides along scenic Lake Drive, and on one of their adventures they discovered the Mary Nohl house (aka the Witch's House). Alex and Jenelle think this is one of the most unique and breathtaking subdivisions in Milwaukee county, as it is right on the Lake's level.

Grant Park

100 Hawthorne Ave, South Milwaukee, WI 53172
, (414) 762-4646

During high school, Alex and Jenelle had cross country meets at Grant Park. This is another one of Milwaukee County's gorgeous lakeside parks with multiple hiking trails that take you through the woods and down to the lakefront. Oh, also, apparently it's haunted.

For all the days along the way
