Matron of Honor
From childhood worst enemy to teenage partner in crime, and now best friend and confidant, she is so much more than just a sister. Despite the constant geographical distance in between, Esther & her only sibling keep no secrets from each other and the love and support is truly unconditional. Married and a mother of two at a young age, Gloria has the bride's utmost respect for raising such a beautiful family with so much strength, resilience, determination and hope. The future is so bright for her and she will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Best Man
PB & J. Brats & Beer. Chicken and Waffles. You know what these things have in common? More than Yaz and Alex. But despite their differences, Alex and Yaz are a dynamic duo. Alex first met Yaz while attending Temple University and swore on his life he would never be friends. Yaz's determination to break Alex out of his shell, his steadfast loyalty, his lightheartedness and energy eventually won Alex over. Over the many years, Yaz was there to remind Alex to always do his best, keep his head high, and how he never ever visits him in Florida. Alex remedied that by being Yaz's best man at his wedding. Yaz decided now it's time to return the favor!
Bridesmaid
Laura holds such a special place in Esther's heart as a friend and new sister. Do you recall reading about the unique circumstances of the bride & groom's first meeting? Laura came down from her busy life in NYC to meet Esther that first week and her open, caring, lovable, down to earth demeanor was such a godsend in helping the bride relax after 2 days with the parents! The two have always had an easy time opening up to each other and Esther is so grateful to have another sister. We are thrilled to have her stand by us as we tie the knot!
Groomsman
They say brothers can be the best of friends and this couldn't be more true for the groom and his brother Nick. Nick is always there to remind Alex to be self-aware, to be positive, and to take a moment to appreciate the good in his life. His infectious laughter and smile will bring joy into anyone's life. He's not a half-bad dancer, either. Alex hopes Nick's art continues to inspire others to pursue their passion in their lives.
Bridesmaid
Not many people in the world get to call Michelle 'Shelly' but the bride is definitely in that elite cohort- has been since they met 6 years ago during the post-bac pre-med days. Changing ones career can be a challenge, but the process was made so much more enjoyable for Esther because Shelly came into her life. Listed as Esther's only other emergency contact alongside the groom, future badass general surgeon Dr. Wahlgren is without a doubt her ride or die and the two have been through so many of life's biggest moments together that one can easily say they are bonded for life.
Groomsman
Roommates of over 7 years, Alex & Yohan's *almost domestic partnership ended when the bride walked into the picture. All jokes aside, there is no one more chill and hipster than Yohan Lee. He is the best road trip navigator/DJ and is the most dependable guy you can go to when you need someone to listen. This man is the epitome of c o o l.
Bridesmaid
Maddie and Esther were pretty much best friends from day one sitting in pre-matriculation class first year of med school. Through all the ups and downs, they have always supported each other even if just as a sounding board, The banter and time spent together is effortless and Maddie's ability to bring out the humor in any situation is such a cherished part of their friendship. Not everyone can handle the amount of sass these two bring out in each other but it's the perfect amount of spice to improve one's day and the bride wouldn't have it any other way. Dr. Larson is headed to St. Louis for her OB/Gyn residency and there is not a doubt in the world she will succeed in every aspect of her training!
Groomsman
One of the groom's oldest friends, Phil met Alex at orientation during freshman year at UMD in 2006. Were it not for Phil, Alex might be lacking in class & culture. Phil is an old soul and the two of them are two grumpy old men whenever they get together, much like kindred spirits.
Bridesmaid
Esther and Betsy have always shared a special connection, even among a large group of friends. There is always a greater appreciation and understanding of what one or the other is going through during life's twists and turns, and no matter how much time passes between girls nights, they always pick up where they left off. After deciding to transition from medicine to real estate, Betsy has become one of the most sought after, high production agents in the Louisville market, and naturally the only one the Bride & Groom wanted to work with to purchase their first home together! Esther has such a high level of respect and love for Betsy and we look forward to seeing what truly amazing things life has to offer her dear friend in the coming years.
Groomsman
Paul & Alex were roommates in college and quickly bonded over their competitive nature, love for good music and appreciation for good food. Things that Alex admires most about Paul are his sharp wit and loyalty to his friends. Alex is always ready to ship some barnacles off of PJ's shoulders & salty face whenever he comes home from duty in the Navy.
Bridesmaid
Word may have gotten around that the bride & Angelica did not hit it off from the start back when they met in anatomy lab. But once the friendship started to blossom, a whole new world of shenanigans started for both and they have never looked back! Reliable, kind-hearted, and always down for crazy fun, Angelica has quickly landed a spot in Esther's speed dial and now with the exciting news of matching into Internal Medicine residency together at University of Louisville, we are so excited to see where life takes us on our friendship journey!
Groomsman
John is a proper gentleman who enjoys the finer things, is wise beyond his years, and loves to toast to his friends. John and Alex have had some memorable experiences together on trips, and there is no one more capable of embodying the phrase "Keep Calm and Carry On" than Johnathan Strauss. Coincidentally, he was the only member of the wedding party present at our surprise engagement!
Bridesmaid
This blonde bombshell, Army officer and soon to be Mrs. Connor Tabb came into the bride's life with arms swinging during a stressful, exhausting surgery rotation 3rd year of med school. Once they quickly realized neither were going into surgery, they spent downtime between OR cases doing everything from online shoe shopping to supporting each other discussing their long distance relationships. Sarah and Connor have become such a positive source of friendship to the bride & groom, and the four of them fully intend on traveling the world together one trip at a time, starting with a visit to Hawaii where Sarah has matched into her OB/Gyn residency.
Groomsman
James was an enigma to Alex when they first met. He wasn't sure what to first make of the rather bookish fellow. From a casual first meeting, they developed a quick friendship through their common interest in Philadelphia sports, anime, video games, and their love of the outdoors. James has been a steadfast friend, a source of laughter, and companionship for Alex. James aspires to one day be a high school math teacher, and every once in a while, he will drop a nugget of wisdom for Alex. James is, in Alex's opinion, the dudest of all dudes out there.
