Answer

American citizens do not need a Visa to visit Colombia.

Question

Prior to entering/departing Colombia, all Colombian and America citizens must fill out the form found on: https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/pre-registro/public/preregistro.jsf ***For American citizens: when asked about country of origin, please scroll and choose option "Estados Unidos".

Question

WHAT ARE THE CURRENT TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS DURING COVID 19?

Answer

Last updated September 20, 2021 Before traveling into Colombia: Travelers to Colombia are no longer required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result. They only have to do their Check-Mig registration 24 hours before their flight at the following link: migracioncolombia.gov.co. Before you arrive in the United States: All air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States.

Question

WHERE CAN I GET TESTED FOR COVID 19 IN CARTAGENA?

Answer

Many hotels now offer COVID 19 tests, so we recommend contacting your hotel to inquire prior to booking. Alternatively, our wedding planner has arranged inexpensive testing (approximately $20USD) for our guests at: Fundación MEDICUS Address: 40, Cartagena, Provincia de Cartagena, Bolívar, Colombia Telephone: +573006157342 Hours M-F 8:15AM-6:30PM and Saturday 8:00AM-12:30 PM Please keep in mind that you need to test no more than 3 days before you travel by air into the United States (US) and show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight.

Question

WHAT’S THE DRESS CODE?

Answer

Cocktail/Garden attire, please. We will be celebrating in an outdoor space. The Caribbean breeze starts hitting in the evening, but it can still be a little hot at sunset. We would like all our guests to feel beautiful/handsome, but comfortable. Guests are encouraged to wear breathable fabrics. There are uneven cobblestones in areas of the venue (and throughout the city of Cartagena), so ladies may want to rethink heels.

Question

WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE?

Answer

The weather in Cartagena will be hot and humid 88°F/30°C with a chance of tropical rain. Wear sunscreen!

Question

HOW CAN I PAY FOR THINGS ONCE I'M IN CARTAGENA?

Answer

In Colombia, they use Colombian Pesos. As of July 30, 2021, the exchange rate is 3853.32 COP to every $1 USD. While most places in Cartagena accept credit/debit cards, you will need cash for taxis and to purchase items from street vendors and mom-and-pop shops. You will also need cash if you're planning to take a day trip outside of the city. We recommend to exchange foreign currencies into pesos at exchange houses only at airports, hotels and banks. There are ATMs on the street; however, be mindful when taking money out. Check out this link to check conversion rates before you leave! https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/

Question

DO I NEED AN ADAPTER FOR MY ELECTRONICS?

Answer

Nope. Colombia uses the same plugs and outlets as USA.
