One of the most beautiful hikes in the State! If you're looking to visit Muir Moods National Park while you're here, you will need to buy tickets and parking passes at least a month in advance: https://gomuirwoods.com/ If you don't plan on renting a car, you can take a Lyft/Uber to the Muir woods overflow parking lot and ride there in the shuttle. We don't recommend relying on Lyft/Uber to take you back from Muir Woods because service is spotty and drivers are few.
More of a "choose your adventure" kind of hiker? Mount Tam is free of charge and has less crowds than nearby Muir Woods. No less spectacular, you will be rewarded with ocean views, a tree swing, or a trip to the beach! Or just a lot of fog. Pro tip: For the avid hiker, the Bootjack trail offers entry into Muir Woods through Mount Tam. https://www.weekendsherpa.com/stories/hike-into-muir-woods-from-mount-tamalpais-and-the-bootjack-trail/
If you're gracing us with your presence in Tiburon on Saturday, there are plenty of places to explore around the area. You can take a ferry to Angel Island, walk along the Tiburon Historic Trail, or head into downtown to hit up a bar or wine tasting. If you're staying through dinner, we recommend making a reservation at Bungalow Kitchen or Luna Blu. Bungalow Kitchen makes a mean cocktail and has a lounge upstairs with a DJ and pool table for the late night partiers.
We hope you'll find time to visit the humble city of San Francisco when you're here! There are so many different neighborhoods and activities to explore depending on your interests, and we could happily spend the whole weekend giving you the grand tour! Unfortunately, we'll be busy getting married. If you want any suggestions for restaurants, hikes, sights, or just fun itineraries in San Francisco, text either of us!
Beautiful picnic location on one side, vivacious dog park on the other. Alamo square park - home of the famous painted ladies - is a great spot to grab coffee and walk around.
4 miles of nonstop fun and attractions! A walk through golden gate park will take you to the conservatory of flowers, a funky roller rink, the DeYoung art museum, Japanese Tea gardens, the park bison, and countless other attractions ending at Ocean Beach.
Heading North for wine tasting after the wedding? Don't miss our favorite vineyards: Schermiester, Anaba, Gundlach Bundschu, and Hamel Family Wines. Though honestly, you could be lost in Sonoma and you'll take comfort knowing you're within 2 minutes of a great winery. If you or your kids are into seeing farm animals, don't miss a trip to Charlies Acres farms, where you can feed cows and pet pigs and goats while learning about their cool lives in the sanctuary.
