Where should I stay?

Answer

At the Embassy Suites by Hilton in San Rafael Marin County! We reserved a block of rooms (all suite-style!) for $205/night including parking. Please book through the link in the travel section to get the deal.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and speeches will all take place outdoors. We will move indoors around 7:30 for drinks and dancing! All spaces are wheelchair accessible

What weather should we expect?

Answer

It should be comfortably warm while it's still light (65-78), but expect slightly chillier evenings (50s-60s). The weather in San Francisco is quite chilly in August, but up in Marin, you can usually expect warm, sunny days! If you're planning on doing any exploring in San Francisco, it's highly recommended to pack long pants, layers, and warm jackets.

What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

Answer

We are requesting that all guests take a Covid test the day of the wedding. We won't be checking results at the door, and are asking this in good faith. We have immunocompromised family members and Alex has been battling Long Covid for the last year, so if you are feeling sick, we ask that you toast to us from home and hope that we can celebrate with you at a later time!

What's the alcohol situation?

Answer

There will be limitless beer, wine, and signature wedding cocktails to enjoy! Should you find yourself in the Villa speakeasy, there is also an option to purchase from the full bar if you so desire.

How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes! We will arrange a shuttle bus to transport guests staying at the Hilton Embassy Suites to Deer Park Villa. The shuttle will arrive at 3:45pm on Friday and leave for the venue at 4:00pm promptly. The shuttle will also provide transportation back to the Embassy Suites at 11pm. If you wish to leave earlier but don't want to drive, both Lyft and Uber are hailable from the venue.

What if I'm driving to the venue?

Answer

There is a free parking lot on site. If you choose to drive to Deer Park Villa, you may leave your car in the lot until 9am Saturday (the following morning). Please arrive at 4:30 to find a refreshment and a seat before the ceremony at 5:00.

Will there be an after party?

Answer

Yes! For those that want to keep celebrating, we are arranging a spot for an after party, most likely a small club in Fairfax, just a 5 minute walk from the venue.

I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in the Bay Area? Should I rent a car?

Answer

Welcome to the Bay; we're so thrilled to have you here to celebrate with us! There are no shortage of activities and breathtaking sights to take in while you're visiting - just look through our things to do section! We recommend renting a car if you're staying in San Francisco, heading North to wine country, South to Santa Cruz, or are interested in exploring hiking spots around the area (although plenty are accessible with Uber). Transportation will be provided to and from the wedding, and to brunch the following day. If you're planning on staying around Marin County the entire trip, it's probably better to rely on Lyft/Uber.
