FAQs

The Wedding Website of Alex Shannon and Carston Curd
Question

What should I know about the historic H-Bar-G Ranch?

Answer

The H-Bar-G Ranch is an incredibly special place for Alex and Carston. Alex has been coming up to the Ranch since 2nd grade. The Ranch was built in the late 1800s, and is owned by Ann Livingston, Julie and Tim Herrin, and Jill and Rich Bagley. It has been in their family since 1933. Julie and Tim are like second parents to Alex, and this has been his happy place for 25 years. How can you help make sure we are good guests? 1. There is absolutely NO SMOKING on the property. 2. Our plumbing is quite old. Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper. 3. Please don't drive off-road unless directed so to park. 4. In case of emergency, gather near the tall lodge building and await further instructions on how to stay safe. 5. Please be respectful of the people, property, and wildlife.

Question

I can't travel - can we celebrate later?

Answer

Yes! We will be having a Labor Day Weekend Beach BBQ in the Seattle area for those who are unable to travel or who just want to catch up a few weeks later! Message Alex and Carston for the details - we'd love if you could come hang out with us!

Question

What's for Brunch?

Answer

Brunch following the ceremony will include sweet and savory options, as well as gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian selections. If you have severe food allergies (i.e. requiring an EpiPen), please coordinate with Alex and Carston ahead of time.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

'Mountain Formal', but it's made up. Think 'creative- or garden cocktail' and plan to wear something comfortable for a summer, outdoor ceremony. If for you that's jeans, a sundress, or a suit, you'll fit right in! While we aren't planning much dancing, wear comfortable shoes that will work in uneven terrain for the outdoor ceremony and lawn games.

Question

What about the Rocky Mountain High?

Answer

The Ranch sits at about 8200 feet above sea level - be sure to hydrate, protect yourself from any sunshine, and take care. We'll have limited first aid on hand in case the elevation gets to you!

Question

Is the National Park next door?

Answer

Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Pre-purchased, Timed Entry passes are required for each vehicle to enter the park between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in August, and are available starting on July 1 at 8 a.m. MDT at www.recreation.gov - to learn more about opportunities at the park, visit www.nps.gov/romo

Question

I'm feeling under-the-weather...?

Answer

Oh no! We trust you to make good judgement to protect the health of everyone attending the wedding. Call Alex or Carston with questions!
