The ceremony dress code is formal attire. We can't wait to celebrate with you on our special day!
The Poruwa Ceremony is a traditional Sinhalese wedding ritual with deep cultural and symbolic significance. The ceremony takes place on a "Poruwa", which is a decorated platform. If you would like to know more about the Poruwa Ceremony, please visit this link: https://www.serendipevents.com/blog/stories-style-serendipity-1/the-poruwa-ceremony-a-timeless-sri-lankan-wedding-tradition-3 Following the Poruwa Ceremony our friend and officiant will lead us in a moment of reflection, sharing some words about our commitment to one another. We will then move to the signing of the marriage register to formalize our union, followed by the lighting of the traditional oil lamp. After the ceremony, there will be a few light bites in addition to coffee and tea. While we love photos, we please ask you to refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. Our photographer has you covered!
