The short answer is: To the wedding Ceremony and Reception (Saturday, after breakfast), kids ARE NOT allowed. For everything else (the Friday BBQ, Saturday Breakfast, and Sunday breakfast), your kids ARE allowed, and a welcome addition to the party :) Long answer: Unless your child(ren) are explicitly mentioned in the RSVP, we'd like to keep the Ceremony and Reception adult-only. While we love your kids and seeing your whole family, we know that it can be distracting to handle kids while you celebrate. However, they're welcome at all other times, especially if you consider bringing food for their meals!
Infants (any kids under the age of 3) are of course welcome to all events. We recommend bringing separate food and drinks for them, as the food we are preparing and getting catered will be for adults.
We have the venue from 2pm on Friday, so feel free to come by any time after then! Fair warning, if you're just hanging out you may get drafted into help with the dinner :)
For guests arriving on the day of the ceremony only, we please ask that you arrive by 4:00 at the latest, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30. For guests in official pictures (we will notify you in advance), please arrive and be dressed by 2:00.
There is a large bathhouse at the venue, so if you need to shower on the day there is a sign-up sheet (it's in the FAQ item above!) so it's not a mad rush right beforehand. There is also a large mirror inside each bathhouse wing too. Otherwise, we ask that you leave the half-bathrooms around the venue for people actually going to the toilet. For make-up, hair, or steaming your dress/shirt, we suggest that you setup a mini station somewhere with an outlet and a standing mirror if you can bring one! If it's urgent, feel free to reach out to us and we'll find something that will work.
We have a shot list with our photographer Brandon, and will reach out to you in advance so you know when to show up. Generally speaking, if you are in any pictures, please be ready by 2:15!
If it's too late to change plans, then we welcome any gifts you have :) Generally, however, we'd prefer gifts either done through our Registry or mailed to our house directly, since we've already got a very full car to come down to the venue and don't know how much space we'll have. If you have specific questions or need our address, let us know!
We do currently have a few leftover bunks, so those will be available for those unable to drive home on the night of the ceremony! We don't have unlimited sets of bedding, so we'll make do with what may or may not be left over. If there are any bedding sets, they are $15 via venmo or something like that. If you do think that you'll want to stay on-site, please let us know ASAP and bring your own set of twin sheets, pillow, and towels! Additionally (for campers), if it rains and you'd rather bring your sleeping pad and blanket inside, that's always welcome too.
In the PNW it can always rain, so we have an indoor space at the venue that we can transition things to for both ceremony and reception in case it will rain. However, it's always smart to pack warm and dry for the evenings, especially if you're camping for the whole weekend. Along the same note, the venue ground is a mixture of grass, gravel, and pavement slabs, so avoid shoes that will get ruined in grass, stuck in mud, or get caught in rocks (stilettos, etc).
We will have a bartender and free drinks at cocktail hour and dinner, so in the effort of ensuring that no one is overserved we'd appreciate if you don't bring your own for the day of the ceremony. Thanks for understanding!
Please limit all smoking (vapes, cigarettes, cigars, or weed) to outdoors, far from entrances to the buildings or people. Thank you for understanding!
Check your email! If not, here's a document with a breakdown by room. https://www.canva.com/design/DAGQyeJdysw/JIk7y5aA-8k_tt02oImOkQ/edit?utm_content=DAGQyeJdysw&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton If you don't see your name on here, please let me know!
There is a bathhouse facility on site, with toilets, showers, and saunas which will be available throughout the weekend at everyone's convenience. There are two identical versions, separated by gender. Please use whichever one you feel most comfortable using. For Saturday morning, prior to the Ceremony, there will be reserved shower slots so that there isn't a rush in the hour or two prior to the event itself. We will be sending out the form to sign-up and reserve your slot to guests planning staying at the venue (either on-site or camping), but if you are staying elsewhere and wish to shower on-site, then let us know! The sign up sheet is found at this link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XKUCrYiUUkuXsotbXj-vZntyXtEs8GXLPNr1y7s1P2k/edit?gid=0#gid=0 (please copy + paste into your browser as we can't add links). This will remain through the day of the Ceremony!
The Main Lodge at Anderson Lodge (not the Hilltop House) is the indoor half of the venue, which has a wide assortment of bunk beds and futons available to sleep on. To see pictures of what some of the bed arrangements are like (some are in smaller enclosed rooms, others are in more open-floorplan halls), check out our Gallery, or the Anderson Lodge floor plan here: https://www.andersonlodge.com/docs/Floor%20Plan%20ML.pdf Additionally there's a $15 fee if you'd like to rent the bedding for your bunk bed (There's a section dedicated to this in the Google Form RSVP as well). Staying on-site is completely optional, so let us know via RSVP so we can plan accordingly!
Anderson Lodge rents out a bedding/linen package to guests that wish to have one (we will need to know this number in advance, as there isn't someone staffed to provide more on the weekend itself). This rental is $15 for the entire weekend. This linen package includes: - 1 Fitted Sheet - 1 Top Sheet - 1 Blanket - 1 Pillow Case - 1 Towel Any guests are welcome to bring their own sheets/towels/pillows if they wish, and we unfortunately can't comment on the specific quality. In any case, it's highly recommended to bring your own towels at minimum, for either lake- or water-based activities, or for the bathhouse.
