Things To Do

We know Nebraska might not remotely be on your list of states to visit, but we are so grateful to all of our out-of-town guests that are choosing to come all this way to celebrate with us! Here are some of my top recommendations in the city I was born and raised. I hope after one weekend here, you'll be pleasantly surprised as to what Omaha can offer, and understand why I always praise it so much. - Alexa
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium

3701 South 10th Street, Omaha, NE 68107

Ranked both the best and biggest in the world.. SERIOUSLY. Even if you're not a zoo person, we highly recommend you give it a try, even Jack was thoroughly surprised! Make sure you check out our famous Desert Dome, Kingdom of the Night, and Aquarium exhibits!

Blackstone District

Blackstone District

The Kimpton Cottonwood (reception venue) is located in the revitalized Blackstone District. Here you can easily walk and check out stylish restaurants, cafes and bars along Farnam Street, or take one of the bike cruisers to explore nearby museums and parks. We suggest a bar crawl through Blackstone between the ceremony and reception to get the party started (see schedule tab for bar recs)! Here are some of Alexa's recommendations: Start your day at Archetype Coffee Breakfast at Early Bird Lunch/Dinner at Noli's (Pizza) or Mula (Mexican) Ice cream at Coneflower Creamery Cap off your night at Scriptown, Sullivans, or Blackstone Social

Joslyn Art Museum

Joslyn Art Museum

2200 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68102
Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront

Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront

1001 Douglas Street, Omaha, NE 68102

If you're looking for a free attraction and a great way to get in a walk and enjoy the weather, look no further than the iconic staple of Omaha, the Gene Leahy Mall! Again, a short uber/drive from the recommended hotels. It includes a performance pavilion for live music, a sculpture garden, a state-of-the-art playground and a modern dog park.

The Old Market

The Old Market

Omaha, NE 68102

A short drive/uber to downtown Omaha will bring you to another staple of the city, the Old Market. Tons of shops, bars, restaurants, and even some horse-drawn carriages line the cobblestone streets and would make for a great place to kill some time. Here are some of Alexa's recommendations: Lunch/Dinner at Jam's or Blue Sushi Sake Grill Ice cream at Ted & Wally's Walking through the Passageway Gallery to take some asthetic photos, shop, and admire art
