The port is full of great restaurants and shops. You should meander through the enchanting side streets to see the beauty of this area. Towards the end of the harbor is Chania's trademark lighthouse. We recommend taking a stroll there to snap a great picture of the harbor.
This is one of Crete's National Parks and is said to be one of the longest gorges in Europe. This hike can take between 4-6 hours to complete. At the end of the hike you will be in the small beach town of Agia Roumeli which can only be accessed by foot or boat. You can swim in the Libyan Sea while you wait for the boat to pick you up and take you back to Chania.
A beautiful, quaint mountain village with cobble stone streets. Enjoy a stroll through the village streets and drink out of the Venetian 'Kefalovrissi' fountain. This fountain is adorned with 19 lion heads that brings crystal clear drinking water from the Psiloritis mountain.
This trip can be easy or hard which all depends on you. After strolling through the monastery you can continue down the stairs to see the ancient ruins. The farther down you venture the older they get. When you get to the stone bridge take the path down to the water way and follow it to the most beautiful and remote pool of water you will ever get to swim in. Be prepared for the hike back up....it is not easy! Enjoy!
This monastery is an amazing part of history. They own a great collection of precious relics, icons and religious treasures from the 15th and 17th century. The monastery overlooks the Cretan Sea and while looking out at the water you will be surprised how quit and tranquile it is.
