Saturday September 30th, 2017, Dan hosted a housewarming party in his first apartment after graduating college and moving to Chicago. Alexa and her friends were going to the Cubs game that day to celebrate her birthday. Through mutual friends they ended up at Dan's party. Alexa and Dan chatted briefly before going their separate ways. Dan to watch the Iowa game and Alexa to go cheer on the Cubs. The next time their paths crossed was a few months later when Alexa got a job at Canon which coincidentally was where Dan worked. The rest is history... Just kidding. Things were NOT the Romeo and Juliet story that one might expect. In fact, the two had quite a disdain for each other. Especially when Dan moved his desk away from Alexa's desk, so that he did not have to help her with what he called "new person questions." However, over time enemies became friends thanks to group lunches in the office. Where the two began to get to know each other. Alexa began to fall for Dan's always "office appropriate" jokes, even though her signature eye rolls led their co-workers to believe otherwise. Dan began to fall for Alexa because of her sassy replies to his killer jokes. After 2 years as coworkers, and 3 years of friendship, the two realized that their friendship was seemingly turning into more. Dan formally asked Alexa to be the Pam to his Jim (The Office TV Show Reference) on October 1, 2020. His birthday. The best gift Dan could have ever received for his birthday was Alexa saying yes (Alexa wrote this part). Since their relationship began, Alexa and Dan have faced many new and exciting things together. New jobs, moving to a new city, and buying their first home together in Iowa. Alexa and Dan are also parents to a cat named Forrest who is very entertaining! Alexa and Dan have quite an appetite for adventure, which results in many trips to visit family and friends in various cities throughout the country. Alexa and Dan share many mutual interests which include the Food Network, trying new restaurants, RV camping, and of course their favorite activity, going on walks together. Alexa and Dan can't wait for their big day when they finally get to say "I do" in front of all their family and friends and are so thankful for those able to celebrate the occasion with them.
