The closest airport to fly into, but it is also possible to fly into Bologna (BLQ), Pisa (PSA), Roma (FCO), or Milano (MXP) and travel to Florence via train or bus relatively easily. We usually find good prices using Kayak.com.

Transportation to/from Villa Medicea

The drive from the city center to the villa is approximately 20 minutes. Parking is on site. For out-of-town guests without cars we will be arranging rental vans to help transport you between Florence and the venue at specified times. Please reach out to Alex personally or add a transportation request to your RSVP by June 1st, 2021 if you will be needing a lift to the venue.

Airbnb or VRBO Rentals

Florence is full of great Airbnbs and hotels can be a bit pricey, so we invite you to browse these options and "live like a local" for your time in town. We highly recommend our personal stomping grounds of Santo Spirito - a local artisanal neighborhood with great energy and authentic restaurants, just five minutes walking from the bustling city center. Areas to avoid would be Piazza Indipendenza and Via dei Benci.

Looking to stay close by the Villa?

Dreaming of waking up in the Tuscan countryside? The Villa Medicea is situated in the southern hills of Florence near the small village of Grassina. There are many other villas, airbnbs, and Agriturismos (farm stays with field-to-table meals included) in the nearby area. Check out sites like HomeAway, Kayak, and Airbnb and search for "Grassina". Beware! A car is a must if you'd like to stay in the countryside. We suggest renting something small to maneuver the windy roads.
