Alex and Phoebe found love at their favorite place in the world... UPenn! After noticing Phoebe from afar, Alex convinced their mutual friend, Rishi Simha, to set them up on a date for his Spring Formal just two weeks before graduating. He took some convincing at first, but then happily agreed. After an evening fraught with hiccups, bonding over their mutual love of Wawa, and a date to Franklin Fountain, the two of them couldn't stop talking all summer before they moved to San Francisco. They quickly started dating after settling in to their new city and spent five years hiking, skiing, tasting wine and exploring Northern California together -- all while both working at Google together too. Now, seven years later, they are excited to tie the knot in Vail with all of you!

Alex proposed to Phoebe during her summer break after the first year of her MBA. While his initial plan was thwarted due to Phoebe unexpectedly breaking her left elbow a week before the proposal, he didn't give up. In June, they took a trip to Kauai together and one night he suggested they go to the beach for sunset. Little did she know that a ring of roses in the sand was waiting for them. Some have likened it to a real-life Bachelor In Paradise proposal - which, if you know Phoebe, means it was a huge success. Phoebe said yes and the two of them sat and watched the sunset together.
