FAQs

The Wedding Website of Anna Mason and Alex Schindelbeck
We've compiled a few FAQ's below. If you have any additional questions, please shoot Anna a text! She's genuinely happy to help - these details are fun for her. We can't wait to have you along for the ride.
Question

What's the drive like up to the venue?

Answer

Honestly, it's a winding road. There are two roads up to the venue - one (through Idaho Springs) is shorter but takes you through a series of switchbacks. The other one (through Evergreen) is calmer but takes a bit longer. We'd recommend that one if you're at all nervous about driving OR if the weather is rainy or snowy. Here is a link to both options: https://www.northstargatherings.com/directions-to-north-star-gatherings Please do rent a 4-wheel-drive vehicle if you're renting your own car. If you're not comfortable driving in the mountains or expect to be drinking with us, please let us know so we can help find a carpool for you! Parking spots are also limited, so we're happy to help coordinate carpools! Seriously. Text Anna :)

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

We're going for semi-formal to formal at the wedding! Earth tones or neutral colors (so literally anything you wouldn't consider "vibrant" will be perfect!) Think cocktail or formal dresses OR suits and sport jackets. Please check the weather to make sure you'll be comfy for our outdoor balcony ceremony as well as the indoor reception. We will have some space heaters outside as well to help in case it's particularly chilly!

Question

How can I prepare for the altitude?

Answer

Our venue is located just below 9,000 feet. So you'll want to be conscious of the altitude, especially if you're from out of state. 1.) Hydrate. For real :) Drinking plenty of water (and throwing in some Liquid IV or gatorade) starting a few days before the wedding will help you combat any altitude sickness ahead of time. 2.} Pace your drinks. We are so excited to host a signature cocktails bar for you (plus wine and beer) but please go a little slower than you might usually. Alcohol really does hit harder at altitude. As a rule of thumb, 1 drink at 9,000 feet = about 2 drinks at sea level. 3.) Be ready for the weather and the drive. We're not expecting buckets of snow, but it's a possibility. So make sure you're ready with a 4-wheel drive car for the journey AND a designated driver to help you get down the dark mountain roads at night. Don't plan on catching an Uber, because it's fairly far out.
