Southern Tier Brewing - Lakewood, NY
This Brewery is one of our favorites and is only about a 20 minute drive from the grounds! You can do a tour of the brewery and enjoy some food and beer afterwards in the dinning area or in their large outdoor area with a fire pit and games.
Bemus Point
Bemus Point is a small town about 10 miles away from the grounds of Chautauqua. It is a charming little lake town with many shops and restaurants!
Johnson Estate Winery
We have never been here, but this winery is about 12 miles away and comes highly recommended. If you want to step out for some great wine tasting, this is definitely a great place to go.
Chautauqua Institution
These are the grounds where the wedding itself will be taking place. These grounds are a special place to us and we absolutely recommend taking a day to just walk the grounds and see all the beautiful historic homes, walk lake side, check out the bell tower and take a kayak out on the lake! Its a great place to spend hours walking or just relax on the porch and enjoy the view! This town is wonderfully charming and you would not regret spending an extra day just hanging out.
Ellicottville Brewing on Chautauqua
This is a great brewery located in Bemus point (which we also recommend to explore as well). This is the second location for this brewery (the original is in Ellicottville, NY, about an hour away from Chautauqua and also a beautiful area if you're feeling really adventurous!). We would recommend the food here over Southern Tier, however, you cannot get the full brewery experience here, just drinking and eating! But the food is great and so is the beer! try their flagship blueberry wheat beer!
St Elmo Spa
Need a little pampering while you're here? This is a great little spa located in the Shops in the lower level of St Elmo's right of of Bestor Plaza.
