FAQs

If you have any other questions than what is listed below, please don't hesitate to reach out to Caitlin or Alex for any additional information!
Question

Where is the Ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at the Girls Club building inside the gates of Chautauqua Institution. It is located at the bottom of the hill, nearest the lake on the South side of the Institution at 63 S. Lake Drive. There will be signs leading the way from the South Lot at the top of the hill by the Hall of Philosophy (we recommend you check this building out, its beautiful!).

Question

Where is the Reception?

Answer

Good news! The reception is located at same place as the ceremony, so no relocation necessary! Just take the party to the porch and enjoy a few cocktails and appetizers before dinner and dancing!

Question

Do I have to purchase a gate pass?

Answer

Short answer: NO Long Answer: While reading up on this amazing little town, you may find some information and pricing about purchasing a gate pass to get inside the gates of the Institution. Gate passes are required during the summer season, however, they are NOT required once season has ended. Our wedding will be after the 2018 season has ended, so no gate pass purchase necessary!

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

During the fall, parking is free and open inside the gates of the Institution. There is a small lot to park in that should have plenty of room for everyone, the South Lot. The Spencer Hotel also has 4 spaces for guests on a first come, first serve basis. The reception venue is a short walk from all the hotels, so driving to the venue will not be necessary as everything is very close!

Question

What should I wear/what is the dress code?

Answer

We would love for you to wear whatever is comfortable to you! We recommend walking to the venue and there will be outdoor games in the grass as well, so comfortable shoes would be your best bet. It will be September and in the evening, so it might not hurt to bring a jacket in case you are having fun outside and get chilly!
