This is exciting.

Blake and Alex met on a blind date to a tacky prom party in college. Cliché, they know. They were supposed to meet before the actual date party, to go thrift shopping, but Alex bailed (Blake loves to mention this). The whole group went to Torchy's before and Alex took her marg to go (Blake also loves to mention this). They showed up at the date party, dressed in all denim and ready for a night of singing and dancing. She was entranced by his charisma and wit, and him by her goofiness and passion. The rest is history!

They arrived at the Dallas Arboretum (one of her favorite places) to meet with some dear friends. After walking around for a few minutes, said friends "forgot" something in their car and went to retrieve it. Alex and Blake spent the next 15 minutes aimlessly walking, Blake singing a completely made up song the entire time (Blake was obviously nervous). Finally, they made their way to the Alex Camp House and stumbled upon a beautiful archway. Alex asked, "do you think there is an event here?" and then she saw the pictures of them both on the table and quickly realized that this was going to be one of the happiest days of her life. Blake had rehearsed an entire speech and promptly forgot it as soon as he started talking. Being the first person to make Blake speechless is quite the accomplishment for Alex. They read Colossians 3 together and he pulled the ring from underneath the table (it was velcroed, thanks Blake's dad). She said yes!
