Thank you so much for flying from all around the world to be with us in Italy, we couldn't be more grateful! See below for recommendations for accommodations and transportation in and around Lucca. Please be aware there are a few US and European holidays around this weekend, so we suggest booking as soon as you can, since hotels and apartments are booking up fast. In general, we recommend staying anywhere inside Lucca's historic walled city. You'll be within a 10 minute walk of anyone else in the walls if you do so. If you choose to stay in a villa outside of Lucca, you should consider renting a car.

We highly recommend this rental company! They are wonderful to work with and offer a wide variety of beautiful Lucca apartments and villas. They have a 3-4 night minimum stay for apartments in the city and one week (Saturday to Saturday) for villas.

Flight

Pisa / Florence Airports

Pisa is the closest airport to Lucca ( approx 30 mins), Florence is 1 hr away. If you're flying from the east coast, there used to be direct flights form NYC to Pisa and Florence before the pandemic, so keep your eyes open for that.

Flight

Milan / Rome Airports

Milan Malpensa Airport is the biggest international airport in Italy and offers more flights and often at much better prices. There is a train station in Malpensa Airport and it takes approx 41/2 hrs to get to Lucca. If you rent a car, it is approximately 3 1/2 hours. If you fly into Rome's Leonardo Da Vinci Airport, the train ride is approximately 3 1/2 hours and driving is the same.
