The story on how I met Al is your modern day “it goes down in the dm” love story. In July of 2018, I got invited to go to a club with my cousin. I asked him for the name of the club and searched for it on Instagram. While looking at the location, I came across a page of a girl who I now know as one of Al’s closest friends. I saw a picture with her and Al and thought to myself “shes cute!” I clicked on Alessandras page and liked a few photos, I just thought she was really pretty. A few hours later I get a notification saying that Alessandra Marie followed me. I followed her back and I was waiting for her to post something so I could spark a conversation. If you know Al, you know she never posts anything! After about three days, I just commented on one of her old videos with one of the corniest lines ever “nice eyes”. I don’t know how it worked, but it did. We exchanged numbers and after a very romanic and memorable first date at the Checkers in Rosedale, Queens. The rest was history!

After dating for 3 years, I decided to propose to Al in the one place that we love the most. If you know us, you know how obsessed we are with the Skylark Hotel in Negril, Jamaica. After our 4th trip to this same spot, I knew this was the only right place to ask her to marry me, as we have had so many memories here. I was born in Kingston, Jamaica and lived on the island until I was 7 years old. My love and memories for this place are endless. I couldn’t wait to start the next chapter of my life here with my future wife. I rented out the restaurant at the hotel and had a private dinner for us on the furthest point on the cliffs of Negril, where she said yes.
