Question

WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO GET AROUND CARTAGENA?

Answer

If you are staying within the Walled City, everything is walking distance! We encourage you to walk and explore the city. However, if you prefer the comfort of a car ride, then we suggest using Uber. Make sure to download the UBER app and link it to a credit card with no foreign transaction fees prior to travel.

Question

IS CARTAGENA SAFE?

Answer

Short answer is, yes! Cartagena is one of the most visited and safest city in all of Colombia. Like any international tourist destination, "no des papaya" - meaning don't make yourself an easy target for pickpocketing.

Question

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?

Answer

To enter Colombia, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your travel dates. For example, since you are traveling to Colombia in January 2026, your passport must be valid through July 2026. American citizens do not need a Visa to visit Colombia. For other citizenships, please check online.

Question

HOW FAR IS THE HOTEL FROM THE CTG AIRPORT?

Answer

The Hyatt Regency Cartagena is only about 15 minutes from CTG airport. It's a quick and easy ride, and Uber is readily available in Cartagena for a convenient and affordable option.

Question

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?

Answer

Yes! Transportation will be provided from Hyatt Regency Cartagena or Estelar to the respective venues with priority for guests who may need extra assistance. That said, we highly recommend using Uber as the quickest and easiest option. Rides in Cartagena are typically $5 or less, and Uber is both convenient and reliable for getting to and from the venue.
