Update Aug 2021: Most of you know that we officially tied the knot in a small, COVID-19 friendly celebration in April of this year. We'd still love to celebrate with everyone - and so are hosting our wedding reception in October! - A&E ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ We're so excited to be getting married! After meeting in the spring of 2012, we've spent the last several years growing together and supporting each other through job changes, moves, graduate school and many other life challenges. Lots of coffee and cupcakes were consumed. We're looking forward to seeing what the future will bring!
Here's a snapshot of what our lives together have looked like over the years: Year 1: - We met over gelato and pizza. Eman rejects pineapple on pizza, a travesty. - Aleshia realizes Eman lives in Virginia, also a travesty. Eman wins her over with homemade tiramisu and sunflowers. Years 2-3: - Our first Valentine's Day together includes a chocolate tour. - We discover our (first) favorite restaurant, Sushi Taro. - We travel to Hawaii, go camping, eat a LOT, and learn how to date 'long distance.' (yes, DC vs. VA is long distance) - Eman "meets the parents"; awkwardness ensues. Years 4-6: - Major life events - some good, some not-so - but we get through them with love and the heart of the cards. - We go to a billion weddings - We buy houses! (not together) - We travel out of the country together for the first time - to both Canada and Japan - and still like each other :) Year 7: - We get engaged!! - Aleshia graduates grad school - Eman starts grad school Year 8: - We plan a wedding :) (and later postpone it) - We try "living together" for the first time. Eman can't believe how many bottles of shampoo one person can have. - Eman graduates from grad school! - We live through a global pandemic! And here we are, entering into Year 9... where we plan a wedding (twice!), do a little traveling, and finally get married!
Living through a pandemic has been tough, but we still want to start our lives together as soon as we can. We've decided to have a small ceremony in April to tie the knot! While we wish we could have everyone there, we thought it would be safest due to COVID-19 to keep the invites to our immediate families and bubble. However we still want to celebrate with the rest of our loved ones during our reception in October when it is (hopefully) much safer. We appreciate your understanding! In the coming weeks, we'll be updating our page with more details and our registry. Looking forward to seeing you in October! A&E
