About the Chateau
Nové Hrady Chateau, nicknamed “Czech Versailles,” is especially meaningful to us.
The family that runs it are close friends of ours, thanks to the Fulbright program. Šárka Kučerová was Alena’s mentor teacher for that year, and her family was kind and generous enough to let us stay in their country home on the Chateau estate. For about 3 months we had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of living on these stunning grounds; truly the royal treatment! Such a beautiful and sentimental venue was the obvious choice, even with the distance.
