Wacissa River Canoe & Kayak Rental
One of our absolute favorite things to do here. So much fun, beautiful scenery, wildlife. Pack a few cold ones before you go!! This company rents the following: Canoe & Single Kayak Daily: $30.00 3 Hours: $20.00 Double Kayak Daily: $40.00 3 Hours: $30.00
Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park
This is just 16 miles outside of Tallahasee. We highly recommend taking the historic boat ride! This is a great event for the whole family. You'll see beautiful birds, ducks, and ALLIGATORS!!! You can also swim in the beautiful waters coming from the natural spring behind the Wakulla Lodge. There is a restaurant in the lodge as well.
Tallahassee Museum
There are really fun outdoor ropes courses, etc.
Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park
A beautiful garden in our local state park. There's also hiking down the road from the gardens themselves.
St. George Island
The most beautiful beach is St. George Island. It is located 81 miles (a 1 hr 40 min drive) south of Tallahassee. There is a state park located on the east side of the island with plenty of open white sand beaches. Enjoy fresh seafood and beautiful beaches here!
Tom Brown Park
We spend more time here than probably anywhere else in Tallahassee. We recommend taking Connor Blvd to Heritage Park Blvd. There's a wonderful walking loop around the lake that takes 45 minutes to an hour.
