Checking-in residents was Sara's job as a desk receptionist (DR) her sophomore year at Marquette. Little did she know, whenever Alek walked past the front desk of Straz Tower, HE was checking HER out. It took a few weeks for Alek to ask Sara out instead of just handing over his ID, but he worked up the courage as he walked her home after a late shift. Alek swept her off her feet- literally- dancing the night away at Kappa Sigma's Spring Formal and their love grew from there. 6 wonderful years later, Alek and Sara are happier than ever enjoying life in sunny Tampa, FL as Alek begins his residency at USF. Alek is officially "Dr. Aleksander Druck", so come wedding day, they will BOTH be marrying their "DR".

During the tumultuous beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a beautiful scene took place on 3-14-2020 outside of the St. Joan of Arc Chapel- a special place near and dear to them. Alek led Sara into a heart of flowers, and got down on one knee. The proposal was perfect, and timely during a moment in history when all of us were being asked to look beyond ourselves to care for one another. It was a reminder that love is bigger than any trials that may be happening around us, and it always goes on, just like Pi 3.14159265......
