Located throughout downtown Monterey, there are 55 historic sites in a 2 mile path to include City Hall, Robert Louis Stevenson's home, the first theater of California, Cooper Molera Adobe (our venue) just to name a few!
Take a drive on Highway 1 South to Big Sur. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get to the famous and breathtaking Bixby Bridge. See the California Coastline like you have never seen before as you drive along the twisty coastline.
Calling all golf lovers. Pebble Beach is 5 miles from downtown Monterey. Take a cruise down 17-Mile Drive, see the Lone Cypress and stop for lunch at the Bench where you can look over the golf courses and the Bay.
About 5 minutes down Highway 1 South, you'll hit Carmel-by-the-Sea. There are plenty of shops, galleries, restaurants and wine tasting rooms which make up the downtown area. Head down the hill to Carmel Beach for views of Pebble Beach, Point Lobos and the coastline.
About 25 minutes from Monterey is Carmel Valley. Home to warmer weather, the countryside and about 20 wineries, the Valley is a fun afternoon trip away from the coastal fog. Both Olivia and her sister used to work at Cowgirl Winery which is located in the Carmel Valley Village.
Point Lobos is home to some of the most beautiful views on the coast. With plenty of hiking and walking trails for any levels, Point Lobos was the hub for whale fisherman back in the day.
Alvarado Street Brewery- great local beer and food, our favorite place to eat and drink the best (in our opinion) craft beer. Full inside restaurant and outdoor covered beer garden. Dustbowl Taproom- this brewery has an outdoor patio next to the wharf with a taco truck. Indoor seating also available. Fieldwork Brewery- outdoor patio with firepits, you can also bring in your own food! Red's Doughnuts- the best doughnuts in the area! Parker-Lusseau- French bakery with freshly made pastries and coffee bar. Alta Bakery and Cafe- this is at the same adobe as the wedding venue! Pastries, light dishes and a coffee bar. Revival Ice Cream- ice cream made on site, unique and fresh flavors. The only ice cream spot downtown. Heirloom Pizza- originally out of Santa Cruz, this pizza place serves regular or deep dish with fresh local ingredients. Lala Grill- located at Del Monte Shopping Center, minutes from downtown. There's a fun cocktail menu and an array of dishes for brunch, lunch or dinner.
There are SO MANY options when it comes to food and drink in the area. Being on the coast, there are an array of seafood restaurants on or near the wharf and Cannery Row. If you have a specific type of place you are looking for, please ask Olivia for more recommendations. If you are staying in a different city than Monterey and would like suggestions closer to where you are staying, Olivia would be happy to provide recommendations.
