Below are a few travel options to help you plan your journey. Whether you choose to fly directly into Bari, arrive through a nearby airport, or take the scenic train ride through Italy, there’s a route to fit every travel style. 🇮🇹✈️🚆 ✈️ 1. Fly into Bari (BRI) — Most Convenient Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport is the closest major airport, about 1 hour 15 minutes from Masseria Grieco. How to get there: • Fly from the U.S. into a major European hub (Rome, Milan, Paris, Frankfurt, or London). • Take a short connecting flight to Bari. Then, to get from Bari Airport to Masseria Grieco: • 🚗 Car Rental: Most flexible and scenic (~1 hr 15 min drive). • 🚖 Private Transfer or Taxi: Comfortable, door-to-door. • 🚆 Train: --> Shuttle train from Bari Airport → Bari Centrale (~20 min) --> Regional train Bari → Ostuni (~1 hr) --> Taxi from Ostuni Station → Masseria Grieco (~15–20 min) **Recommended for most guests: fly into Bari and either rent a car or join a shared transfer. ✈️ 2. Fly into Brindisi (BDS) Brindisi Airport is a smaller airport about 35–40 minutes from the venue. • Ideal if you find a good connection through Rome or Milan. (Ryan Air is cheap and easy). • Car rentals and private transfers are available at the airport. • Taxis are also an option but should be pre-booked. **This is a great second choice if flights to Bari are limited or expensive. 🚆 3. Fly into Rome or Milan + Train Down to Puglia —> For the Scenic Route (Perfect if you want to see more of Italy or catch a better flight deal.) Step-by-step: 1. Fly into Rome (FCO) or Milan (MXP). 2. Take a high-speed train to Bari (4–6 hours depending on city). 3. Take a regional train from Bari to Ostuni (~1 hour). 4. Grab a short taxi ride to Masseria Grieco (15–20 min). Train tickets can be booked through Trenitalia (https://www.trenitalia.com/) or Italo (https://www.italotreno.it/en).
💳 Money & Payments • Credit Cards: Most restaurants, hotels, and shops accept major credit cards (Visa/Mastercard). American Express is less common, so it’s good to have a backup card. • Cash: Smaller cafés, taxis, and rural shops may be cash only, so having some euros on hand is helpful. You can withdraw euros from ATMs once you arrive in Italy, this is often cheaper than exchanging at the airport. • Tipping: Tipping is appreciated but more modest than in the U.S. Rounding up the bill or leaving 5–10% at restaurants is customary.
