Bird Watching Tour

Hosted by the Senner Family

Meet at the L-T ranch at 8:30am for a bird watching tour in the area for a hourish long walk around the property. -Activity Level: Easy -Bring along your cup of coffee and your binoculars


Mountains in Motion

Driving Geology Tour with Dave Courtis

Departure: 10:45 from the Dolese property at the L-T and 11:00 from the Scenic Turnout on the Beartooth Highway, 200 feet west of the L-T access road. An eight-stop automobile tour will review 2.7 billion years of the earth’s history in the Clarks Fork Valley and vicinity. There will be special emphasis on Heart Mountain and its associated features, geologic evidence of the world’s largest onshore rock slide which occurred 49 million years ago. -Activity Level: Easy. -Return: 4:00. -Bring a picnic lunch. -Because of limited parking at several stops, carpooling may be required.

Clay Butte Hike

Lead by Tom and Jennifer Dolese

Meeting at 11am at the Clay Butte Scenic Overlook (around a 11miles/20 min drive from the L-t access road). The road to the overlook is the first left after the Yellowstone overlook up the Beartooth highway. A beautiful scenic hike with views of the whole Beartooth mountains. Enjoy the bird watching, wild flowers and a spot that one can often see grizzly bears. The hike itself is around a 5 mile loop with a little bit of scrambling. You can do as much or as little of the hike as you would like. Turn around is easy with a clear visual of where the cars are parked during the hike. -Activity Level: Moderate -Return: 4pm (at the latest) -Bring: Good shoes, water and a packed lunch (the overlook has an outhouse)


Swimming and Fishing

12:00 meeting at the Scenic Turnout on the Beartooth Highway, 200 feet west of the L-T access road. We will Car Pool around 3.5 miles to a spot on the side of the road, then walk in about a 1/4 of a mile to the river. There is a cliff jumping spot along with a nice area to swim around. And ample fishing locations. -Activity Level: Easy -Return: Whenever, X&C will be back at the cabin by 4 -Bring: WY fishing license if you wish to fish, swimsuit, packed lunch.

Porch Hang

With the family

Just want to hangout at the Ranch? Family and others are welcome to hangout at the cabin, especially the porch. Take a swim in the river if it's warm or venture out on a hike. Or just make yourself at home and chat. -All day -Have a self food plan for lunch
