We met at work while Alberto was rotating through Walmart’s Finance program. There weren’t many reasons for him to land in Audit, but God had one. Looking back, it’s clear He was already at work, putting us in the same place at the same time. From the start, something felt different. Jackie remembers being drawn to Alberto’s kindness, his generous heart, his sensitive soul, and yes, his extreme handsomeness. Alberto remembers being struck by Jackie’s authenticity, generosity, and beauty. There was an ease between us that felt natural and honest. Our department loved any excuse to gather, whether it was happy hours or pickleball tournaments. At one of our first happy hours, Alberto invited Jackie to play pickleball, knowing full well he was probably going to lose. If you know, you know. That night turned into many more, and before we realized it, we were spending all our time together. Our first official date was at a distillery, where an Uber driver asked if we were married. We laughed, but it stuck with us, because the connection really was that strong. After that, life just started blending together. We went to church together, worked out together, and slowly became best friends without even trying. One of our favorite early memories is when Alberto, completely unprompted, turned to Jackie and said, “You are the coolest girl I’ve ever met.” A few weeks later, when he officially asked her to be his girlfriend, he gave her a coffee mug engraved with those same words. Jackie loves coffee, and she still loves that mug. As our relationship grew, God kept showing us how aligned our hearts were. We shared the same faith, values, and hopes for the future. What we were building felt steady, joyful, and rooted in something bigger than ourselves. As we look ahead to June 15th, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for God’s faithfulness and for the love He placed in our lives. We’re so excited to step into marriage, trusting Him and choosing each other every day.
