Thomas had recently joined a new team at work. During a chat with his new manager he shared his frustrations with not being able to find a couch, his manager told him that one of his new coworkers recently bought a couch - her name’s Albania, maybe she could help! Thomas walked over to her desk later that day. Nervously, he introduced himself and asked if she recently bought a couch. From that point on, Tom would make every excuse to go to her desk. As Albania got to know Thomas and learned more about his passion for travel and family, she knew this was someone she wanted to spend more time with. After a few weeks of getting to know each other at work, we decided to go out with a few of our friends in the city. Albania invited her girlfriend that ended up bailing last minute, “coincidentally” Tom's two friends also bailed. We decided to still go out since Tom had already made the trip to the city, and with one of the best nights the two of us have had in memory, the rest is history!
We both love to travel, we try to take as many trips as we can domestically and internationally. After the pandemic limited options for travel we started looking for our next adventure. We were searching for a road trip where we could also bring Layla when we found that Alexandria, VA was known for being a dog friendly town, and neither of us had been there before. It was perfect - Albania was excited to discover all that Alexandria had to offer, but Tom knew this would be his moment to take the relationship to the next level. In the weeks leading up to our trip, Tom worked with the hotel to surprise Albania. When we went out to dinner Tom had a display of flowers everywhere along with dozens of pictures from our past travels set up throughout the hotel suite. When we returned from dinner, Albania was taken aback with all the flowers and pictures laid out and before she could realize what was going on, she turned around to see Tom on one knee asking for her to marry him. After a few shocked expletives, she said "Of Course!"
