Excursion to Playa del Amor
This is a once-in-a-life-time experience. Beach inside a cave. Minimum group size: 6 guests. Maximum group size 15 guests per boat. Restricted area accesible by special permit only. Excursions exact date and times are determined by tidal charts allowances coordinated by the Mexican Office of Natural Protected Areas.
Sport Fishing Trips
The deep sea waters attract more serious fishermen that want a chance to hook a trophy fish. These boat operators and crew will optimize your experience. Smaller boat (capacity 10) fishing on the reef for 3 hours (1 to 5 persons) = $390 Smaller boat (capacity 10) fishing in the deep sea for 6 hours (1 to 5 persons) = $445 Larger (twin engines) boat (capacity 15) fishing on the reef for 3 hours = $460 (1 to 5 persons) Larger (twin engines) boat (capacity 15) fishing in the deep sea for 6 hours = $550 (1 to 5 persons) For the 6 hours trip, guests can request to fish the reef & the deep water (combination) All trips include canes, reels, lures, bait, ice chess for fish. Ceviche served onboard for 6 hour trips. Trips depart Platanitos at 6:30 AM
Mario's Coastal Fishing Trip
3 hour ocean fishing trip in traditional Mexican “panga” boats operated from Platanitos. (Van transport is provided.) Troll off-shore for sierra, toro, snapper and other seasonal fish using rod /reel combos or hand lines. (Hand lines are preferred by local fishermen and may be more fun for children.) If desired, this trip includes having the day’s catch cleaned and made ready for cooking. Max 4 adults + 2 children in a center between adults is $225. Price without transport, without fish cleaning is $180.
Whale Watching Tour
Outstanding feedback from customers. Guests can choose from two boats: (1) The smaller boat (single engine) provides the tour at a slower pace @ $295 for 4 guests, $20 pp for additional. Round trip transportation to meet the boat is included (max 6). (2) The larger, dual engine boat @ $345 for 4 guests, $20 for each additional person. Round trip transportation to meet the boat is included.
La Tovara Wildlife Jungle Cruise/Wildlife Refuge
Start with a boat ride through the jungle growth at La Tovara National Park . Your boat will maneuver to maximize photo ops - migratory birds, blue herons, egrets, herons, hawks, wild crocodiles, turtles, iguanas and more. (Bathroom stops are provided.) Several movies have been filmed here, and picturesque bamboo huts remain from a movie set. In addition to all the wild crocodiles, you can get a closer look at these majestic reptiles at the croc “farm”. For the really adventurous souls, you can even swim in a designated area which is separated from the croc farm by a barrier … of sorts! After the boat trip, you will visit a restored Spanish fort, providing a panoramic view of the city of San Blas. Next, you will explore the town’s square, a historic church, visit shops/restaurants. Choose between three San Blas restaurants rated 5 stars on Trip Adviser for lunch on your own. $200 for 2 people / add $25 for each additional. (Entrance fees for the Wildlife Refuge are included).
El Cora Waterfall
This drive along the Pacific coast through mango, jack fruit and banana orchards goes to the small village of El Cora. Hike down to the beautiful 100 ft. waterfall, enjoy the cool water. Somewhat strenuous physical activity. $225 USD for 4 / add $15 for each additional (6 max)
