FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The only dress code is for the wedding ceremony which is Cocktail Beach Attire. This means for Men- wear linen pants with short-sleeved button downs or dark jackets and slacks. Women- wear cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or maxi dresses with sandals. High heels are discouraged as you will be in sand and grass. Example: https://pin.it/3cpl4qplixoo3f

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, we love kids. If they get tired during the ceremony then they can rest at Villa Tortuga at any point in the night. Portable cribs, inflatable mattress TV and nanny service will be available during the party

Question

Do you have any hotel/vacation rentals recommendations?

Answer

We do not recommend hotels per se, as they are either very far and expensive or not very nice in the nearby town. Instead we will help reserve Villas in the surrounding area. Please see the travel/accommodations section of the website for more information. For specific recommendations please contact Adriana at email: drmcgregor@mac.com cell: (805) 573-3181

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

For those that have cars we can arrange parking, however most guests will have shuttle transportation from Playa Las Tortugas Villas, Punta Custodio Villas, Platanitos Village, and El Limoncito Villas.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please ask Ray or Alana if an additional guest can be accommodated in addition to the already designated ones on the invitation.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the rental villas to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes. Shuttle drop-off service will be provided to Custodio Platanitos and El Limoncito several times during the evening.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Unless you have a Mexican drivers license I would highly recommend not renting a car. The roads can be hard to see at night and you might get lost.

Question

What is the required minimum night stay at the Villas?

Answer

All accommodations require a 3 night minimum. We suggest either Thursday-Saturday or Friday-Sunday. Please coordinate with the friends & family that you are staying with to make sure all guests checkout on the same day. The reception will end very late so we suggest that you checkout Monday morning or take a late flight out Sunday. You are welcome to stay longer than the minimum.

Question

When do you suggest arrival to Playa las Tortugas?

Answer

Thursday, October 24, is the most recommended arrival date. Most flights in Puerto Vallarta arrive in the afternoon. If you choose the shuttle service, your driver will be waiting for your group at the airport. He will take you to your villa so you can rest. If you choose to rent a car, specially the guests at Playa Las Tortugas, please be aware that the entrance road to Playa Las Tortugas is easy to miss in the dark. Just let us know and we’ll guide you.

Question

What about meals?

Answer

Meals will be part of your accommodation fee for an extra $30-35 per person per day. Children 4-10 pay half price ($52.5 USD per child for 3 days) and small children (under 4 years of age) eat free. On the way from the airport to the villas the driver will stop at the market for any incidentals. If you want to buy alcohol for the weekend (apart from the wedding events) this would be the best time. We do not recommend cancelling this option as the nearest market is 2 hour round trip drive. If you choose to cook your own meals you can stock up on groceries at the supermarket on your ride up from the airport.

Question

How do I get picked up to and from the airport?

Answer

The accommodations coordinator will arrange your airport pick up and drop off by Marianne (Playa las Tortugas) or Michel (Custodio). Ride duration form PVR to Playa Las Tortugas ( PLT) : Approximately 2 hour drive North. Airport Pick up and drop off service cost : $360 USD per group of guests up to 6 passengers. We may arrange to include as many wedding guests as possible in your trip that are arriving at the same time to PVR Airport.

Question

What is a good budget for this trip?

Answer

It depends on where you are coming from and how long you want to stay. The trip per person for 3 days should be ~$350 per person + flight. This includes accommodations, meal service and shuttle. Some accommodations might be more or less expensive so this is an average. This does not include incidentals at the market or activities. Factors to consider: flight, accommodations, shuttle service, meal service, and activities.
