Many years ago a young Australian and South African were embarking on an adventure of a lifetime. To sail around the world to the unknown of the most beautiful destinations. At a first look, many have wondered how this would work? Could a floral shirt, tiny shorts-wearing African, keep up with a cosmopolitan chocolate-croissant-loving city slicker from down under? Yes, yes they could! It was at a BBQ where all yachting groups hangout, that they first laid eyes on one another. It was from that meeting they kept running into each other at other social occasions. Then surprisingly both landed a job together. It was fate.... they were meant to sail and explore the world together. And so they did, Now after many years and many nautical miles, Alana and Nathan are getting hitched! We're so excited to invite you all to' Mountain Shadows Estate' Capetown, Our wedding date nearly marks our 6th year anniversary and we're honored you are participating in our special day. Bring your Dancing shoes and get ready to party. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

It was a long weekend when Nathan and Alana were back in the Caribbean at Puerto Rico. This is where it all began some many years ago.... the sparks to there blossoming relationship..... in Old San Juan -the place they had their very first date..... walking the colourful cobblestones streets, nervously sipping on their mojitos nearly 6 years ago. Nathan suggested they go away from the busy season, to have an adventure weekend. To my surprise he organized everything! They arrived in the middle of the El Yunque National Forest to find a little eco- wooden lodge surrounded by the forest looking out onto the flowing river .. with a waterfall. Alana should have known then something was up. After frolicking in the river on the rocks, drinking 'Rose' all day, Nathan suggested they relax on the balcony to have a sun downer. (Alana's favourite time of day). With beautiful tunes playing.... he just had to get something from the car which was up a steep hill ...(for those who know Nath he is not one for exercise). The romantic that Nathan is (NOT) suggested opening a bottle of bubbles,and to Alana's surprise handed her a glass of bubbles and went down on one knee. The end is history.... The tranquil rain forest was no longer tranquil from that moment. Turns out the ring had been in his golf bag that weekend. He'd had it shipped from SA where he had it designed. For 5 months it was hidden - high in their cabin, waiting for that perfect moment.

Since 2013 they have both travelled extensively together. Beginning when they first worked in the crystal blue waters of the Bahamas, onto the Caribbean, whilst sipping rum and enjoying the freshest seafood. They fell in love somewhere along the way. For a year they did the long distance romance.... Nathan in the Caribbean and Alana far way in Europe. It was hard being apart, the time differences, the crazy hours but it was through these many hard months that they knew they had something so special. In 2015 they took a year off to travel to one another's homelands to meet our family's, ( that was the real test) They then travelled around south east Asia for 6 months. Fortunately over the past 2 years they have found a job together, Alana as the Chef and Nathan the First officer. They think if they can survive working and living together and making time for their personal relationship they can get through anything the future may throw at them. To wining and dining down cute cobbled stone streets in France or magical rooftop bars in Italy, diving in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean, playing bat and ball on remote tropical beaches and renting scooters to explore every last corner together. We've done it! We are so excited for our next chapter as husband and wife. We know there are more adventures to embark on. together!
