We met on Tinder and we are here now!
Her side: We had just spent the afternoon at DPAC and then went over to Duke Gardens. There was a wedding going on so there was no parking so we had to park down the street and walk a little. It wasn't so bad except it was so hot that I was sweating like 2 minutes into it. We then walked around for what felt like an hour, stopping and sitting and I knew he was trying to propose but was waiting for the right place and moment as I continued to sweat profusely. We finally were almost secluded and I kept trying to lead us to cute places except there was one other couple walking right behind us and we could not lose them. So, we made our way over to this algae filled pond off in the corner and as we were walking I spotted something in the water. So I walked over in hopes of seeing a turtle in the water, to find out upon staring at it for 20 seconds or so that it was just a pinecone. What I didn't know is that Char took that as his cue to get down on one knee. I took so long that he had to clear his throat for me to finally turn around. When I did, he held up the little box and said "Uh, I don't really know what to do..." so I said, "Do you have something to ask me?" and he said, "Oh yeah, will you marry me?" and of course I laughed and said, "Yes!" He then surprised me with an amazing evening with both our families to celebrate! His side: After spending about 45 minutes on a 90ish degree day wandering around Duke Gardens looking for a quiet place away from other foot traffic, we found a mossy pond. When Allison's back was turned, I took out the ring and got on one knee and waited... and waited... I gave her a loud "PSST" and once she turned, I popped the question and the rest is now history.
