Our Story How It All Began In February 2023, before her first trip to London, Aksa casually mentioned to her best friends, Jacky and Leema, that she had been talking to a guy from Chicago for a few weeks. They were shocked—Aksa, who normally wears her heart on her sleeve, had kept this news to herself. They knew something was brewing. Aksa, however, wasn’t quite sure herself. She was simply enjoying the rare, meaningful conversations with someone 700 miles away. And though she’d always sworn she would never do long-distance, she was curious to see where things might go. While in London, she brought up this “mystery man” to her cousins, who encouraged her to keep getting to know him. When she returned to the U.S., Aksa decided to explore the connection further and see if there was something truly special. Meanwhile, in Chicago… Albin had been traveling the world when he came across a new face on Dil Mil. Her friendly eyes and captivating smile drew him in, and her sincerity and genuine nature kept him wanting to learn more about this NYC girl. Their first phone call lasted until 3 AM, even though they both had work the next morning. From that moment, they were hooked. Phone calls turned into video chats, and before long, they were both feeling like high schoolers again—giddy, excited, and completely smitten. The only thing standing in their way? The 700+ miles between them. The First Visit After a few months of getting to know each other, Albin decided it was time to meet in person. Despite a previous less-than-pleasant experience in the Big Apple, he booked a flight to NYC for the end of April. A weekend filled with laughter and sweet moments followed, and by the end of their time together, Albin asked Aksa to make things official. On April 30, 2023, Aksa said yes—and their story began to turn into something real. From Dating to Destiny Excited by their whirlwind weekend together, Aksa and Albin couldn’t wait to share the news. What was meant to be a simple introduction of their parents turned into a pennukannal—a surprise for everyone! With each visit, each late-night phone call, and each shared memory, their bond deepened. What started as casual chatting quickly evolved into dreams of a future together. On May 4, 2024, Albin, with the support of their closest friends and family, proposed to Aksa in Central Park. As expected, Aksa said YES! The Engagement They celebrated their engagement with a beautiful ceremony in NYC on July 27, 2024—a day filled with laughter, joy, and a lifetime of memories in the making.
