FAQs

We have attempted to include answers to any questions we feel you might ask us. Please take to the time to review our FAQs to find the answers to your questions! If you have any other questions that are not listed here, please contact the bride or our wedding coordinator, Nicole Bates at (706) 614-6985!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are attending the wedding! We have many loved ones who would love to attend and we can only accommodate so many! If you cannot make it, please make us aware so that we can begin to reach out to others that we’d like to attend in your place!

Question

What information do you have about the location of the venue?

Answer

The location of the event is The Barn at Young Harris. The address is 2835 Plottown Rd, Young Harris, GA 30582. The ceremony will be outdoors. For those of the traveling from out of state and are not within driving distance, we recommend flying into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport or Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport. Both are about a 2 1/2 hour drive to the venue.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we adore your kids, our wedding will only include children who are siblings or in the wedding party. We hope you know this decision wasn’t easy, and we truly appreciate your understanding and hope you can still join us in celebrating!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they would appear under your name when you RSVP. We are confident that no one will be alone during the wedding and that everyone will have someone they know attending! We appreciate your understanding on this and look forward to seeing you there with or without a plus one!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We'd love to see our friends and family dress up with us! The dress code is semi-formal attire. For the ladies, please wear knee length or longer cocktail dresses or dressy jumpsuits. If you wish to wear heels, the ceremony is outdoors! For the men, we ask that you wear suits (tie optional), or dress trousers with dress shirts. Please NO jeans, casual wear, shorts, or tennis shoes. Please avoid wearing white(or similar colors), black, or green. We look forward to seeing everyone in their best dressed!

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We kindly request that you enjoy this special moment presently with us and leave all cell phones and/or cameras in your purse or pocket during the ceremony. We are hiring a wonderful photographer to capture every detail of the wedding and we will of course share those photos with you afterwards. Feel free to snap pictures and videos during the reception if you wish to do so, but don't forget to send them to the bride and groom!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

While we have set up a smaller registry here on our website, we kindly request no traditional wedding gifts. Having you with us on our wedding day is the only gift we need! However, should you wish to honour us with a contribution, we have created an electronic honeymoon fund to help us begin our next chapter. We will also have a designated box at the wedding if you wish to gift us in person. We greatly appreciate anything given, but there is absolutely no pressure whatsoever!

Question

Does the venue have parking?

Answer

Yes! There is a designated area for parking at the very end of the driveway between the barn and the cottages. Guests will parking up against the wooded area where the light pole is!

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

Yes! We plan to have a limited selection of alcoholic beverages available at the bar. It will be open after the ceremony until the end of the night.

Question

What is the weather like this time of year?

Answer

With it being an afternoon into the evening event in the North Georgia mountains, and it being mid October, we are expecting the weather to be mild with the possibility of cooler temperatures as the sun goes down into the evening. We recommend bringing a light jacket in case the temperature shifts too low.
