Maid of Honor
Bree and Victoria have been best friends since middle school when Gianna said, “Bree, there’s a little punk rock girl in my class and I think you guys would be best friends!” We had stretches of closeness and distance, but we’ve been truly inseparable soulmates for years now. Some may debate whether or not my marriage to Victoria is truer than the one to AJ and honestly, so do I!
Bridesmaid
Bree and Gianna have been best friends since 2004, when Gianna moved next door. We were slow to start at first, but then spent every day going to school together and even lived together for awhile in high school. Despite how much Gianna hated the smell of Bree’s clothes after she came home from one of her many summer jobs (cooking at the beach shack,) their friendship only got stronger!
Bridesmaid
Casey Jane is Bree’s cousin-by-choice — the girls grew up as family brought together by the best friendship of Casey’s mom, Jane, and Bree’s dad’s cousin Nancy. They did everything together from adventuring with the adults, making up weird games dissolving them to hysterics, and having “camp out” sleepovers in the backyard. Now that they’re grown, they’re still doing all these things while throwing in (a little) more maturity!
Bridesmaid and Bree’s baby sister
Bell has been the apple of Bree’s eye since she was born (when Bree was 14.) They went everywhere and did everything together and Bree is so lucky to have Bell by her side today!
Bridesmaid and AJ’s sister
Bree is so lucky to have such an amazing, hippie, badass future sister-in-law to stand by her side today!
Best Man
AJ and Sean have been best friends since elementary school going through boy scouts together and endless adventures that usually either began or ended at Denny's or both.
Groomsman
AJ and Brian have been best friends ever since that fateful morning they got on the same school bus and took turns shoving each others head into the window as a way of saying "good morning".
Groomswoman
AJ and Lauren have been best friends ever since Brian introduced them to each other at a show in Rochester and they ended up carrying each other out at the end of the night after dancing too hard.
Groomswoman
Lily is AJ's niece who he has absolutely adored from the day she came into this world and couldn't be happier to have her by his side on this special day. She's his monster.
Officiant
Colin has been best friends with Bree’s parents since they were practically children (14 & 15 years old!) She’s grown up with him as her Uncle Cole her whole life, through the ins and outs of growing up. He was there for her and her brother when their parents got divorced and through many hard times, but also some of the best and most hilarious times as well. He was there when Bree swore off marriage aaaaaaand was among the first to congratulate us when we got engaged. We knew Colin would be a perfect person to officiate our wedding with immense love, humor, and appreciation for how much work love is, but also how far it can go.
Flower Girl
Bree met Lucille when she was just a few months old as they were getting ready to backpack Ecuador for a month. They hit it off famously and became bffs! They hung out all the time before backpacking in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Sweden for over two months together. They loved visiting museums, making up games in grocery stores, drinking espresso, and watching Bob’s Burgers and Gilmore Girls (specifically Season 3 Ep 16.) Bree is elated to have her #lgbaxter walk down the aisle with her!
Flower Girl
Bree met Solene when she was just a day or two old in the hospital. She was lucky enough to be her postpartum doula (for her twin brother Stormy too!) Bree loves Solene and her brother so much that she would travel to Queens, NY even after moving to Jersey City to see them as much as possible to read stories, draw, play at the park and make huge spinach salads together. She’s so happy to have Seenie with her on our day!
Ring Bearer
Bree met Stormy (and his twin sister Solene!) when he was two days old and, as Storm says, “Bree, ‘member when I was a baby and you came to the hospital and wrapped me in a burrito?!” She was lucky enough to be his postpartum doula — so lucky that he couldn’t get rid of her if he tried! Bree’s so happy to have him with her on our day.
