The short answer of course is simply, no you do not! However, it will make getting to the island much more convenient. By bringing your car, you do not need pay for parking on the main land (which is expensive), you do not need to carry your luggage on the boat, and do not need to worry about transportation when you arrive. Depending on how long you are staying, and how many activities/ places you plan on visiting, having a car will be very helpful in terms of sightseeing and getting around. However, again, it is manageable to do without!

Yes!! There are several other fast ferry options such as the Island Queen (Falmouth), Hyannis Hyline, and the New Bedford Seastreak. The Steamship Authority is the only ferry you can bring your vehicle on, the others are all walk-on.
Yes! In addition to many local cab companies there are Ubers and Lyfts easily accessible on the island. If you have a big group, the Adam Cab and Stagecoach Cab companies offer 15-passenger vans you can call and reserve as well.
