YYZ Pearson Airport

For those travelling from Ireland, you will fly into Pearson International Airport (YYZ). There are trains that go every 15 minutes to Toronto City Centre (the UP Express); it is just a 25 minute trip with free wifi on the way!

UP Express

While you can easily take a taxi to downtown Toronto from the airport, it will set you back at least $70. A less expensive and quicker way to get downtown is by taking the UP Express. This will bring you to Union Station in 25 minutes. You will see signs for the UP Express in the airport. If you arrive into Terminal 1, you will get the UP Express train from this terminal. If you arrive into Terminal 3, you will get a quick shuttle bus to Terminal 1 where you will catch the UP Express train into the city. You can purchase your tickets ($12 single) with credit card at the machines right by where the trains stop.

Getting around Toronto City

The TTC is the collective name for the subway, streetcars and buses that will take you wherever you need to go in Toronto. While a single trip is $3.25, no matter how much swapping between buses / subways and streetcars you do, so long as you are still on the same route, you only pay once! Just remember to get your 'transfer' which is a piece of paper you take when you start your journey! For those of you spending more than a few days here, weekly passes for Toronto are also available in convenience stores and subway stations.
