Ainsley and Phil met online and chatted for a little while before meeting in person. Phil was living in Haliburton and Ainsley in Lakefield, so it was a commute for both. Phil was a little nervous about the first date but Ainsley knew there was a spark and wanted to get to know Phil better. They met in Haliburton at a small restaurant called Maple Avenue and in typical Phil fashion, he talked for most of the date because he was so nervous! Ainsley found it both amusing and sweet and knew she wanted to see him again. Their relationship quickly blossomed and four years later, on October 8th 2021, Phil asked Ainsley to marry him and she of course said yes!
