Sacred Heart Catholic Church does have a dress code, which we endorse. Women: Please refrain from wearing clothing that is too tight (body con, etc.) or revealing. Shirts and blouses should not be low enough to reveal any cleavage, and skirts or dresses should come to the knees or below. Any slits should come to the knee or below as well. No athletic clothing or loungewear of any kind, please. Chapel veils are encouraged, but not required. Men: No athletic clothing or loungewear of any kind, please. Collared shirts, nice pants, and non-athletic shoes are required. Please refrain from wearing your hats indoors. Just like the women, please refrain from wearing anything too tight or too revealing.
If you are attending this wedding and are not Catholic, please refrain from receiving communion. You may either remain in your pew during communion or kneel at the railing with your arms across your chest to receive a blessing. Catholics eligible for receiving communion are those who are actively practicing (fulfilling their Sunday obligation) and in a state of grace (no mortal sins on their conscience).
During the Mass: No. We ask that you do not use your phones in any capacity, especially to take pictures, while you are inside the church. Please maintain a reverent attitude towards the Holy Sacrament and the Sacrifice of the Mass. During the Reception: We would prefer that you enjoy yourselves at the reception, rather than spend time taking photos. However, we don't mind a few here and there! If you would like photos of the wedding and the reception, you can contact us for access to the professional photos after the wedding.
We have decided to have a dry reception after the Nuptial Mass, so we will not be providing any alcohol to our guests. We also ask that you do not bring any alcohol with you to the reception.
Children are welcome, and parents are encouraged to utilize the designated cry-room should they need it during the Nuptial Mass. If you would like to bring any children that were unaccounted for on your invite, please contact either the bride or groom to ensure that we can have an accurate head count for catering purposes.
In the spirit of Independence Day, we have reserved Mission BBQ for our catering service. Please come hungry, and if you have any dietary restrictions, don't hesitate to notify either the bride or the groom. We will do our best to meet your needs!
