Things To Do

Sour Duck Market

1814 East Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Austin, TX 78702
, (512) 394-5776

Probably the place we frequent most often. Don't miss out on their draft cocktails!

Emmer & Rye

51 Rainey Street, Austin, TX 78701
, (512) 366-5530

Looking for a special dinner out? This one isn't to be missed. Be sure to make a reservation!

Barton Springs Municipal Pool

2201 William Barton Drive, Austin, TX 78746
, (512) 974-6300

Our first 'hang spot' the day we met. Bring your bathing suit and check out this famous Austin gem. Barton Springs is a 100% naturally spring fed pool that stays 68-72 degrees year round. Note: outside food and drinks other than water are NOT allowed.

The White Horse

500 Comal Street, Austin, TX 78702
, (512) 553-6756

Our favorite dance hall--look out for the opportunity to meet us here for some two stepping during the wedding weekend.

Hestia

607 West 3rd Street, Austin, TX 78701
, (512) 333-0737

Have a (lot) of extra cash and willing to throw it at some of the best food you've ever had? Book a reservation and do it early at Hestia.

Meanwhile Brewing

3901 Promontory Point Drive, Austin, TX 78744
, (512) 308-3659

One of our favorite breweries! The four food trailers on site are NOT to be missed. A bbq truck (one of the best in the state), one of our favorite taco spots, delicious pizza, and a food trailer carrying some of the best ice cream in town

Town Lake & Bike Trail

2 Robert T Martinez Junior Street, Austin, TX 78702

Bring your walking shoes and take a walk around Town Lake (hot tip: pass for a local and be sure to call it "town lake' and NOT "Lady Bird Lake". Sure fire way for folks to know you're in from out of town.

Allens Boots

1522 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704
, (512) 447-1413

Looking for some cowboy boots to scoot a boot during your time here? This is one of the best places to visit. Large selection of men and women's boots, hats, and belts. (Insider tip: if you're planning to use these boots for dancing and getting out on the town, be sure to buy boots with a leather sole. Looking for more of a boot to wear while out working? A rubber sole may be more appropriate. Email tara for more tips or if you need a personalized boot shopping appointment with her--she's set up many a out of towner with boots!) These boots are on the more expensive side--if you're looking for a more affordable option, check out the recommendation to visit Boot City instead!

Zilker Park

2207 Lou Neff Road, Austin, TX 78746
, (512) 974-6700

Just steps away from where the wedding will be held, this massive park is where ACL is held every year. Check it out on a gorgeous day for some grand people (and dog) watching.

Matt's El Rancho

2613 South Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78704
, (512) 462-9333

Best chips and salsa and best margs in town (be sure to try the Prickly Pair margarita.) You'll thank us later.

Cavender's Boot City

4435 South Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78745
, (512) 892-4747

Wanna scoot a boot (Texas for dancing!) this weekend!? You're going to need some boots! Here's a great store for some affordable pairs. Ready to break the bank? Check out our recommendation for Allen's Boots too!

Odd Duck

1201 South Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX 78704
, (512) 433-6521

One of our favorites, and owned by the same crew that brought you Sour Duck.

Texas BBQ

It wouldn't be a trip to Texas without a few self induced meat comas. Austin is home to 7 of the top 50 BBQ joints in the world. Let's see how many you can get through! (Course--you should probably expect to see one of these pop up on the wedding night :) This link will show you the whole list worthy of your time.

Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden

121 Pickle Road, Austin, TX 78704
, (512) 481-0694

Super chill place to hang outside with drinks or coffee on a beautiful afternoon. The bbq truck on site is one of the best in the state, and the taco truck is our favorite in town (strongly recommend the Don Chago!)
